White on Black Format
Sky maps with white stars and text on a black background are probably the most realistic, and serious sky observers who may be using a laptop computer to assist them in the field may find them easier to read with the dim red flashlights they sometimes use to preserve night vision. (However, printing such sky maps is not recommended due to the amount of ink that would be needed.)
